Perseverance Produces Progress

In March I posted on the subject of a telephone call I received from the Minister of State for Housing (Grant Shapps) and that an audience meeting had been promised by/with him. Following a few 'gentle reminders', as I had not heard anything further on this subject, I am pleased to report that the promised meeting has now been agreed and will take place on 12th May 2011.

Bearing in mind the subjects included in the agenda that I have been asked to provide and the wish - expressed by the Department for Communities and Local Government - that the meeting should be "both helpful and productive" thus "ensuring that the appropriate people attend the meeting" - it should include not only representatives from the Ministry of Housing, but also those from the Ministry of Justice and the Legal Services Commission.

It is my intention - and that of the solicitor who will be accompanying me, one who is well versed in Housing Law - and associated matters - that, with the agreement of the meeting, it will be recorded. In any event it is my intention to post a report of the meeting, hopefully based on minutes which I shall request are made. Without disclosing too much beforehand it is hoped to prove that various Acts of Parliament have been abrogated, thus proving that certain Coalition policies are "unlawful".

Due to the foregoing it may be that postings will be less frequent than normal, due to the research that will be required for this meeting, so it is hoped that regular readers will bear with me during the interim period. Needless to say I will of course attempt to add whatever "Witterings" are necessary, depending on what transpires in the political arena.

Good luck with that. A long, slow process and you've persevered with the issue.
