The European Union and our money

My, my, the European Union is busy, busy..........

Courtesy of The Albion Alliance Presents, the source of all the following EU links, we find that recently these took - or will take - place:

Of course, all this costs money in time, personnel etc and when reading this one can understand why EU budgets have to increase, year on year. I won't dwell on the subject of how many Directives those three meetings might spawn in the years to come..........

Still on the subject of the cost of our membership of the European Union, readers in the Bury St.Edmunds-Kennett and Nuneaton North Chord areas may well be pleased with the improvement works being carried out to the rail networks in their areas by our most beneficent government. However, this has nothing to do with our beneficent government but more to do with our government complying with the wishes of their masters in Brussels. These two projects are part of the TEN-T programme to create a pan-European transport network. Neither will I dwell on the logic of sending money to Brussels only to have it returned as a contribution for one of their pet projects...................
