Votes for prisoners

On Iain Dale's phone-in last night he took a call from a serving prison officer.

Prison officers are unable to use the word prisoner; a cell must be called a room; segregation is now called care and separation; prisoners inmates must be addressed by their christian/first name, not by their surname.

See where all this political correctness - and no doubt human rights - 'mumbo-jumbo has got us? Might as well give prisoners the vote - they seem to have almost all the other benefits of our society!

Seems to me they now have more "rights" than the indigenous, law abiding population.

Derek: One get the impression that we, the law abiders, shud be inside and that prisoners should be out as their punishment!

It's already been suggested that elderly people would get better care, for free, in prison than they currently do in many care homes

W42: Saw/heard that, although can't recall where.

Have to say the care home, council run, that my Mother is in I can't fault - mainly due the staff who are brilliant!
