What works in one sphere may well work in another

In a post headed by a quotation of Lenin - Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever - Restoring Britain writes about an education paper presented to one of his children, a post well-worth reading and one that every parent who cares about his/her child - and the education he/she receives - should read.

On a similar theme, one of child indoctrination, an article appeared in yesterday's Daily Telegraph by Peter Stanford in which he queries whether the best is being achieved for children in care, in particular where the question of adoption is concerned and asking the question why is the system seizing up. He offers various reasons, one being an institutional bias within the social work profession against white middle-class adopters. Links to the two charities he mentions can be found here and here. (Interestingly, the annual accounts for the first can be found via their website, whilst it appears those of the second cannot.)

Reports have appeared in the media detailing instances where couples have been refused permission to adopt, or to act as foster carers, for what appear to be bizarre reasons, here for their Christian views on homosexuality and here for once having smacked a child for swearing. As with the education of children, so with the care and adoption of children - in each the 'rules' are set by people over whom the customer has no control.

If we also include children taken into care by social services, a subject on which Christopher Booker has written endless examples where this has been done and has catalogued examples of 'rules' set again by those over whom the people have no control, one has to wonder if there exists an unseen programme to create model citizens of the future - a programme that may have a hidden 'common purpose'?

Not insinuating anything, you understand - as usual, just asking.......

Good article WfW. Perhaps correct the title "What works in once.." to What works in one.."

I have actually heard of parents who smoke or are "overweight" being refused. Surely, a loving family is better than none at all?

SO'H: Oops, typo again. Thanks for spotting and have amended! *Blushes*

Sue: Yup, I did remember them but did not wish to labour the point....

Having had some experience of social workers, I can say I thoroughly dislike them. Individually, there may be some 'good' ones. But collectively, they are not a force for good. No one who wants to be a social worker should be allowed any where near such work. In my opinion, I would sack the lot of them because, collectively, they do more harm than good.

jic: you did not pick-up, perhaps, on my 'common purpose' linkage....?

WfW, forgive me but I didn't and still haven't. That doesn't mean I don't think Common Purpose have a role in all of this. The Marxist-founded organisation has a lot of influence on many aspects of our lives, from what I have read of them. I don't believe in coincidence, or that established bodies, such as social workers, do things by accident. I believe that there is a purpose to all that they do. And if there is evidence that Common Purpose have their evil tentacles immersed in this matter, then I can see this to be a valid explanation. I still maintain, though, that any public service position that includes the word social (or any variation of this) in its title should be abolished. In my mind, it's a tell for more subversive purposes.

Give me a child until he is seven and I will show you the man

Jesuit motto, attributed to Francis Xavier, the co-founder of the Jesuit Order.

That is, the best time to indoctrinate persons for life is when they are young.

Lenin was merely plagiarising Jesuit thinking.

The LibLeft rulers of society know that its most lethal enemy is the Christian faith, and it is the reason why so much of present day antipathy of the ruling elite is directed against Christians. Islam and Muslims are just another ally to use against Christianity.

Hitler did exactly the same....but it is simply political parties modelling themselves on quasi-religious tenets.

No excuse for misquoting by bloggers though !

David,

Thanks very much for the link and the recommendation. Very much appreciated.

Also an excellent post highlighting how ideology is overruling what is best for vulnerable people
