Every so often a comment appears on a blogpost that is worthy of repetition. In my previous post under this heading I concluded with the point that the demise of political parties could be hastened with a change to a Swiss style of democracy with a dose of Richard North's "Referism".
That our political system is corrupt, that political parties and their politicians are at the core of the problem and bring shame not only on themselves but on our country, is now beyond doubt. So why the suggested change to a Swiss type of democracy? From the comments on the previous post:
"I recall a point made by a Swiss MP or whatever they are was asked why Switzerland seemed to have little in the way of political party organisation compared to elsewhere in Europe. "There is no point," he said, "the Swiss system means the big decisions are by plebiscite, there is no scope for political parties to impose a particular view or policy." I have admired it ever since."
Still need convincing..........?

Just what we need to hear said here in the green and pleasant land.
All we have to do is rid ourselves of the aliens and their collaborators.
Start right now and take down the local politicians by exposing their thieving, misdemeanour's and wrong doings by any means possible. Those 'protesters' in London are targeting the wrong people.
Keep it Local!
I feel that I should be out on the streets protesting. But what will get me out of the house and making my point felt to (whom?)? I don't know.
Those 'protesters' in London are targeting the wrong people.
They are not targeting anyone, but are counterbalancing the lobbying behind closed doors with street protests.
If Cameron's clique can meet with lobbyists 1537 times but trades unions just 130 times, it is clear that Street action is the only way Voters get to show displeasure with Puppet-Master Michael Hintze
Bill: The only point at which I have to disagree with you is that the national and local 'clique' need to be taken down at one and the same time.
jic: Well, if you don't know......
TT: Agreed. Mass street protests are probably the only way politicians will begin to take notice, faiing which there is my 'alternative'........
