Prompted by this article from the Athens News which reports that in a surprise move, the defence minister proposed on Tuesday evening the complete replacement of the country’s top brass, this news begs the following questions:
(a) Did the 'Man from the EU' get to them first; or:
(b) Was their loyalty to the EU suspect?

Great minds - I've just responded to someone on twitter (couldn't help myself) who suggested that the Greek government was hiring British mercenaries. In the post linked to it was suggested that these mercs had killed the demonstrator a cple of days ago. While it's hard to know who's behind all the riot gear I'm with you in that I think it more likely Eurogendfor went for 'a joint training exercise' and just didn't go home.
They'll soon be taking to the sea in ferries.

They are taking delivery of some new tanks and working closely with Israel to manage Turkey....no doubt the military will get a chance to replace the politicians - Spain used to have a tradition here
TT: It sure is going to be interesting. I wonder what part the people might play and whether they may 'tank up' the pressure...
Taken with the referendum that makes two irregular and unexpected events in a week. They have to be linked.
I know little about Greek politics so I can't guess what the plan is or whose plan it is, but suggests the defence chappie knew about the referendum call in advance.
