The real reason for action over Libya ?

For an alternative 'take' on decisions taken to enforce a no-zone over Libya go read this.

Thank you WfW. Hot-footed over to IPJs and read. Appalled. Not surprised - except in so far as my previous state of ignorance is concerned.

For some reason, that scene in 'Indiana Jones' (where he is in a tunnel with no obvious means of egress and has an enormous stone boulder hurtling in his direction) springs to mind.

My first thought - as an ageing foot-soldier - is to slot a few of the leading lights in this organisation. But it seems that the movement has a kinetic energy of its own which appears to brook no interference. How the hell do we stop it?

C: With the EU now announcing that they have the right to finance any Yes campaign come a referendum, that referendum is going to be 'fixed' the way all EU referendums are.

I seriously believe that the only way to stop them is a revolution - but how many of the proles are interested?

Extremely interesting link. This is the value of blogs isn't it? No point looking to the MSM for analysis like this. As for the BBC...

The EU has imperial aspirations as does France. The goal of France is to tie down Germany and the industrial north into a relief programme for French-directed North Africa.

Funny though that in May 2011 all transitional restrictions on EU Accession States like Poland, Romania etc fall away and France and Germany should get a big influx to charm the electorates.

German public already speak of "Reparations" as the burden it has to pay to keep the Euro afloat. There is real anger.

Libya is the most convenient site to pipeline oil to EU refineries and provide energy sources outside Russian or OPEC control...Iraq failed to be as productive or secure as necessary

It will be interesting as the weeks drag by to see how the media shifts gear and gets bored
