Alex, you can't be serious!

Alex Salmond, writing in the Independent on the subject of Scottish independence:
".......we no longer risk the prospect of politicians trampling on the democratic will of the people..."
Considering recent history, that statement has to be one of the most inaccurate ever made.

TBF & WY: The sheer audacity of the statement leaves me speechless! Day after day we see politicians imposing their will on the people, introducing measures on which the people have never been consulted and Salmond says politicians don't trample on the democratic will of the people?

It becomes even more essential that the principles of direct democracy are made know to people!

And the sad, if not outrageous, thing about this matter is that most Scots and English are ignorant of how Union came about in the first place; by a Scottish King. And, in my understanding, because the Scots had bankrupted themselves in trying to build an empire in South America; and needed English money. You'd think that the Union had been foisted on Scotland by a bullying England but the reality is rather different.
I happen to think that the four nations of the UK are uniquely strong, when acting in unison. But the socialist states of Europe have a long-held hatred of us. So, the EU plan has always included the destruction of the UK and Mr Salmond is instrumental in their plans. Ironic therefore, that it's a Scot who initiated the Union and it's a Scot who is conspiring in its destruction, in harmony with our European enemies.
Perifdious Albion? I don't think so. More perfidious Scotia.
