Nucleus

From Conservative Home we learn that:

"......now we have Nucleus, an independent group headed by former Conservative candidates Peter Wilding and Rob Marr, to lead something of a Europhile fightback. Nucleus also includes on its Steering Committee Sarah Chilman, the Secretary/Organiser of the Conservative Europe Group (whose President is one Rt Hon K Clarke MP). The Group also has a Labour presence on its Steering Committee - Kevin Doran, once an adviser to Alan Donnelly, the former European Parliamentary Labour Party leader."

The fact that bulletins will be provided for MPs "across all parties" would appear to be a wasted exercise in that whilst party leaders, with the aid of their enforcers (whips), continue to support EU membership, whether or not an MP is for or against EU membership is neither here nor there because as we have seen the majority vote as they are instructed.

I have subscribed to the bulletins - hopefully some fun can be had in being argumentative.......

Glad to see you back so quickly ... as to Nucleus ... why give them the oxygen of publicity, responding to their agenda. You need to be creating your own agenda and having them respond to you.

I don't suppose the name, Nucleus, has any relevance to what they intend to be doing?
Wouldn't they be better calling themselves The Dissemblers?

R: thank you for your welcome - fan busted and laptop overheated. Bit of ingenuity and a fan - temporary fix.

The idea was to unpick their utterances without actually mentioning them by name - but I take your point.

jic: I thought 'fruitcakes' would be more than apt....?

It may have got blocked up with dust and that's why things went pear shaped.

You could try one of the various laptop coolers available. If you can find one with a fan close to where your machines vents are placed it might be enough to keep it going without any repairs.

Alternatively the small fans used are pretty cheap. Either:
1) Get your laptop repaired (look for a local independent specialist).
2) If you have any DIY skills you could try making a (box) stand which the lappy sits snugly on, and install a fan in that!

You must know what I'm like by now - NOTHING'S unrepairable, given enough determination...

md: Thanks for the suggestions but lot easier just to buy another one!

Actually, that is what is keeping me going at the moment - a fan blowing on the side of the laptop where the fan is located - only problem is cold hands trying to type......
