Its political ideology - stupid!

PoliticsHome reports that:
"David Cameron and David Willetts have denied that rich students will be able to buy university places. The Prime Minister said there was  "no question " of students paying to go to university. A Downing Street spokesperson added that ministers were currently  "listening " to a range of proposals."
And therein lies a problem with our democratic process as the last thing governments - or come to that, local authorities, 'Charities', or any NGO does - is "listen" to anyone. At the end of the day it is the implementation of political ideology, or the latest 'brainwave' of a politician, or bureaucrat, that is all that matters!

A final thought prior to "signing-off" for the day!

What is to stop 'Daddy' from giving a donation to a charity and that charity paying for the 'son/daughter of Daddy' being sent to university ?

You are being complex. You create the "charity" as a "trust" or grandparents do. The aim of the Trust being "Education".

Now reflect: David Miliband got to Oxford because his father Ralph chaired an ILEA Committee selecting disadvantaged pupils from ILEA dump schools to go to Oxford. David Miliband came from just the kind of poor deprived home that Oxford needed for its Outreach Program.

Toby Young, son of Michael Young "Rise of The Meritocracy = Death to Grammar Schools" got lousy grades but Daddy was able to get him to Oxford on an Outreach Program for disadvantaged pupils.

Don't you think the mess that John Major created by abolishing part-time degrees in Polytechnics is going to create the "special schemes" for children of Nomenklatura ?

Britain has evolved into the Soviet Union steadily since 1945 with its Politburo and its Gleichschaltung - every madcap scheme has a silver lining for the political-financial elites
