Selfpreservation?

With this report by the Guardian, what pryce any prosecution will be hewn by the political elite in order to preserve one of their own - after all, we have to accept that the same laws should prevail in all cases?

Just asking........................

I just hope someone is adding Mr Huhne to the list for when the day of retribution arrives.

While I agree that Huhne should be tarred and feathered then hounded out of public office, it is because of his arrogant stupidity re global warming and his apparent insane determination to either see the UK subject to rolling blackouts or buying vast quantities of nuclear generated power from France. Just how the hell did he manage to become a millionaire?

Anyway, back to speeding points, I rather suspect the problem here is simply the realisation that both he and his ex wife face potential prison sentences if her version is true, indeed, she should be considered more culpable than he in that case.

Criminal classes are often guilty but less often punished, but the public knows they are guilty. We no longer expect the judicial system to convict the guilty and protect the innocent - we know it is all a game and theatre.

Corruption is not simply financial and Huhne's wife lacks integrity to have engaged in perverting the course of justice and now she is trapped
