Why our education system is the mess it is

"Whenever is found what is called a paternal government, there is found state education. It has been discovered that the best way to ensure implicit obedience is to commence tyranny in the nursery."
Benjamin Disraeli, 1874

Just repeating what the man said.....................................

Good one. From training them to be WW1 canon-fodder to teaching them self-hatred if they're white/male/straight.

Perhaps a bit of home schooling in insurrectionary warfare might put their poor little minds straight.

Ian: Thank you! Totally agree!

Education became compulsory to keep children off the streets after child labour was restricted in Factory Acts.

The Education Boards were created when the Church of England objected to military training.

The focus on STATE Education was because that is what Prussia did.

The nationalisation of Education was to shape "New Citizens" along social-engineering lines in Soviet Britain after 1945.

The US Space Program was a reaction to Soviet missile tests which showed ICBMs could launch into space. US Growth rates soared through expansion of Universities = Heavy Funding of Technology so Britain had to copy - Robins Report and expansion of CATs in 1960s.

Expansion required MORE public sector jobs for non-technical degrees.....and explosion of Bureaucracy as manufacturing moved offshore to find technically-trained personnel

Education is a marginal activity at schools. Self-esteem, victimhood and PC take precedence over demonstrable skills. The development of critical faculties is regarded as dubious at best, seditious at worst.

The title "Comprehensive Schooling" should be changed to "Schooling for Comprehensive Failure" since that is what the comprehensive education system is. Nothing about it is either comprehensive, except for its comprehensive failure to provide children/young adults with any skills necessary for the labour market or any breadth and depth of knowledge other than how to claim benefit and misrepresent and misinterpret everything.

Just saying ...

As an aside WfW, what do you think of the new Single European Payments Area (SEPA) that is being implemented whereby bank accounts will get 22-digit numbers incorporating IBAN ?

Apparently the German Government is getting anxious its voters might find out !

LJH: Agreed.

TGM: You carry on 'just saying' - completely agree with your summary.

TT: SEPA? One thing is obvious, its going to cost a shed load! Whilst can follow the reason behind the idea, what was wrong prior - people still got paid, did they not?

I just see it as a cementing block in the structure of total monetary union and total will eventually include sterling. The reason given will be the old chestnut Ah well we have to if we want to change the EU from within..........
