Another Westminster Numpty

Readers will be aware that just a few days ago I posted about Pushmi-Pullyu MPs, citing as an example Angela Eagle, Labour's shadow transport minister.

Enter stage left (where else?) Michael Meacher, who bleats about "the EU's unnoticed power grab", in this case the oversight of the European Commission of national budgets and something he maintains that:
"......Britain – and the Labour Party in particular – should be strongly rejecting this slide towards undemocratic government."
As can be seen, Michael Meacher is yet another MP who has voted strongly for more EU integration. Michael Meacher may only have just noticed; however, luckily for the nation, there are those of us who spotted this - and other power grabs - yonks ago!

I bet if you trawl you will find Meacher praising the EU for its power grab on Environmental issues such as banning incandescent bulbs or climate change.

He is one of nature's freaks - totally irrelevant to real life but seemingly immune from losing his seat

TT: Oh he has, eg:

On the re-electing bit: something that needs addressing, somehow......

At least he seems to have woken up at last. If he can persuade his leftie colleages of the seriousness of our plight it might do some good.

What MPs say in opposition about the EU and what they do in office are totally different things, and there's been a long history of this.

It's a mistake to assume that people like Meacher are actually very bright and have clearly thought through ideas. They can usually talk and get away without their ideas being analysed critically.

As for his election prospects, he'll be in an Alsation with a red rosette seat.

SO'H: Maybe, but I will believe that when I see it!

c: Quite!
