Revision of our democracy

Following the exchange of posts on the subject of direct democracy that has taken place between Richard North and I, it seems that someone else is about to enter the debate shortly. From Orphans of Liberty comes a post from Ironies Too, from which we read:
"........Britain happily will seem to be getting a different opportunity for root and branch reform of its governance……….a topic to which I will return at length both here and on Ironies Too during the Christmas/New Year break!"
Interesting...............

I've had an idea, one that would widen this debate, which hopefully can be announced during the forthcoming 10/14 days.

What we are doing here is effectively a mini constitutional convention. Bring on the real one.

Dude, I wasn't having a go, relax. I was just stating that by debate and exchange of ideas, we are having our own CC of a sorts. A pity that the outcome will not be binding, but maybe we are that small group of people who will bring about a revolution in British politics and constitution, as Richard talked of when speaking about the chartists etc.

S: Apols, misunderstood your 'thrust'.

All being well you will have your convention, albeit on-line......
